Green Star Epoxy Floor Coating & Polished Concrete
Multiblast was engaged by Watpac Construction Ltd to complete the epoxy flooring and polished concrete works for the University of Queensland’s Advanced Engineering Building at the St Lucia campus in Brisbane. This high-profile project involved the installation of over 6,000 square metres of epoxy and 2,000 square metres of polished concrete, supporting the university’s state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities.
In alignment with UQ’s sustainability goals and Green Star building design, Multiblast applied HYCHEM WE500 – a low-VOC, water-based epoxy system known for its durability, low odour, and environmentally responsible performance. The 4mm self-levelling epoxy system with a matte finish ensured the flooring met strict specifications for safety, aesthetics, and long-term serviceability in a high-traffic academic environment.
This project underscores Multiblast’s ability to deliver high-performance epoxy flooring in Brisbane for institutional, educational, and commercial clients. Our work at UQ demonstrates our technical expertise in large-scale, multi-storey developments where quality, durability, and environmental compliance are essential.
Works commenced in mid-September 2012 and were completed on schedule by early 2013, showcasing Multiblast’s reliability on major Brisbane construction projects.
