Multiblast was contracted by Gold Coast City Council to complete honed concrete works for the new Macintosh Island pedestrian bridge. This project involved honing the bridge walkway to expose full aggregate, finished to a 60/80 grit level, before applying a specialised concrete sealer and densifier for surface protection.
The result was a visually appealing and durable honed concrete surface that met both aesthetic and safety requirements. Given the walkway’s high pedestrian use and exposure to outdoor elements, it was essential to achieve a non-slip surface that could withstand rain and foot traffic. The penetrating sealer/densifier not only hardened the concrete but also protected it against staining and surface wear.
