Multiblast have completed a number of industrial epoxy flooring works for the Australian Defence Force, particularly at the high-profile RAAF Amberley Air Base. The most recent addition to the list of finished projects was the complete floor coating replacement of the 33 Squadron Aircraft Maintenance Facility, of 5,000 sq.m. Due to the specific works carried out in the facility, it was important to employ a robust coating system capable of protecting the substrate from the inevitable spillage of chemicals, aviation fluids, heavy loads and impact.

Multiblast, working closely with the Defence Force & Flowcrete Australia, installed a custom 3mm thick, self-leveling epoxy system. This comprised of Flowcrete ‘Flowshield SL’, ‘Flowcoat SK’ and ‘Deckshield UV’, in an outstanding ‘white’, smooth finish, offering high chemical resistance, light reflection and UV resistant properties.

Multiblast were engaged by Pradella (Pradstruct) to install the podium car-park deck waterproofing membrane and coating system. The specified product installed was the Flowcrete ‘Deckshield ED Rapide‘ – methyl methacrylate car park deck coating system, which provides a colourful, highly-trafficable, crack bridging & waterproof surface. The car park coating system comprised of 5 coats, including a highly flexible waterproofing membrane, over an area of 2,000 sq.m. Tasked with coating a number of coloured circular patterns, and battling the tough elemental conditions, this project took out-of-the-box thinking and and a extreme effort by Multiblast to get the job done.

Multiblast has expertly carried out the epoxy flooring installations for over 20 fire stations throughout the Gold Coast, Brisbane and also into New South Wales. Of course, when it comes to the safety and serviceability of the facilities that garage our Qld Fire & Rescue equipment, only the highest quality flooring systems are accepted.

The flooring systems required by the Qld Fire Service need to be extremely durable and resilient in order to stand up to the constant movement of the heavy fire engine vehicles. With regular cleaning and maintenance of the fire service equipment creating wet spots, it is important that the floor offers a suitable non-slip finish to ensure the safety of our servicemen and women.

Brisbane City Councils, Sherwood Bus Depot was constructed in early 2014. Multiblast were engaged to prepare and install over 6,000 sq.m of Sikafloor 2mm epoxy.

Multiblast were engaged by Watpac Construction Ltd to carry out the installation of all the Epoxy Flooring, and Polished Concrete works required in the new ‘state of the art’ Advanced Engineering Building’ at the University of Queensland’s St. Lucia campus.

Working closely with the principal builder, the Multiblast team was contracted to deliver the flooring solutions for the innovative structure, consisting of over 6,000 sq.m of epoxy flooring, and over 2,000 sq.m of polished concrete. The unique multi-purpose building was set to revolutionise learning and research, offering educational facilities for structural, civil, materials and hydraulics engineering students across eight stories. In keeping with the Green Star design, we applied HYCHEM WE500, an innovative water-based epoxy flooring system. The pigmented, 4mm self-leveling coating has a ‘matt’ finish, is very low odor and very low VOC (volatile organic compound).

Work commenced on the high-profile project in mid-September, 2012, and Multiblast completed all works within Watpac’s scheduled time-frame, closing out contract works in early 2013.
