Epoxy Flooring Benefits Include…

No other surface of any building or facility takes as much abuse as the floor. A seamless industrial floor coating can greatly increase the durability, longevity, and impact & abrasive resistance of a concrete floor. There are many options available when specifying an epoxy coating depending on the intended usage of the finished surface.

Due to the epoxy floor coating sealing off the surface of the concrete, the floor becomes easier to sweep or wipe clean. Dirt, debris, and other substances such as water, oil and bacteria will not penetrate into the surface and can easily be removed. This makes epoxy flooring ideal for facilities such as workshops, food processing plants, commercial kitchens, retail spaces, or even residential.
For further safety and hygiene an antimicrobial agent can be added into the epoxy flooring mix. This additive will reduce or inhibit the ability for micro-organisms to grow on the surface.

Another great benefit of installing an industrial coating is that the finished product can look extremely aesthetically pleasing. The coating can be tinted to just about any RAL colour, and the use of multiple colours and layouts is common. Line-marking can be applied, and stencils used – making your finished floor not only durable but attractive.

Having a chemical resistant industrial floor coating installed in certain facilities is often necessary for everyday use. Certain corrosive by-products and contaminants including fats, hot oils, blood, sugar solutions and acids can eat away at plain concrete very quickly, so having a chemical resistant barrier installed can be a very wise decision.

Safety should always be a number one priority in every industry. Industrial Coatings can directly enhance a facilities safety in a number of ways. Most industrial coatings can be applied to achieve a certain level of slip resistance, depending on what the area is used for. In ‘wet-areas’ the slip resistance requirements may be a lot higher than in a ‘general traffic area’, and this can be achieved by using certain additives during installation. Using a variety of colours, line-marking and textured finishes, areas can be designated to certain modes of traffic. Walkways can be coloured to stand out, including’ No Access’ areas, ‘Loading Zones’ and other various high-risk zones.
